The Waterville Trail Running Festival is one of those weekends that just feels right – a proper celebration of trail running right on the wild Atlantic edge of Kerry over the May bank holiday. Set in Waterville, it brings together a brilliant mix of races from the quick 25km hit to the full-on 130km ultra, all following the Kerry Way markers through rugged ridges, beaches and climbs with views that’ll take your breath away. The vibe is pure Kerry: friendly, supportive and full of local cheers that keep you going. And to round it off perfectly, Saturday night sees the Trail Running Film Festival kick in at Tech Amergin from 19:30 – grab a €10 ticket and settle in for a screening of inspiring short trail films that’ll have you buzzing for the trails ahead.
