Held in the beautiful Tollymore Forest Park near Newcastle in Co. Down, this is forest trail running at its finest. The looped course takes you through ancient woodland, along the Shimna River, past stone bridges and up into spots with cracking views of the Mournes and the Irish Sea. It’s a bit more runnable than the pure mountain races but still has plenty of steep climbs, descents and technical single-track to keep it exciting. November timing often means proper autumn colours and that crisp, invigorating air that makes you feel alive.
